Noun (संज्ञा) किसी व्यक्ति, वस्तु, स्थान, जानवर या भावना के नाम को कहते हैं। अंग्रेज़ी में Nouns को उनके अर्थ और प्रयोग के आधार पर 5 मुख्य प्रकारों में बाँटा गया है: Proper, Common, Collective, Abstract, Material। इसके अलावा, Nouns का Gender (लिंग) भी महत्वपूर्ण है – Masculine, Feminine, Common, Neuter

  • Proper Noun: किसी विशेष व्यक्ति/स्थान का नाम – India, Ravi, Monday
  • Common Noun: सामान्य वर्ग – country, boy, day
  • Collective Noun: समूह – army, crowd, flock
