Modal Auxiliaries (सहायक क्रियाएँ) – विशेष प्रकार की Helping Verbs हैं जो किसी क्रिया (Main Verb) के साथ प्रयोग होकर उसके अर्थ को प्रभावित करती हैं – जैसे Ability, Permission, Possibility, Obligation, Advice, Necessity आदि।

  • 1. No '-s' in third person singular: He can swim. (❌ He cans swim)
  • 2. No infinitive form (to + modal): ❌ I want to can.

  • 5. Followed by base form of verb (V1): I can swim.
