Example: The dog barked. - Predicate: Subject के बारे में बताने वाला भाग – इसमें Verb और उससे जुड़े शब्द आते हैं।
Example: The dog barked loudly. - Direct Object: क्रिया का सीधा परिणाम – “क्या?” या “किसे?” का उत्तर।

Predicate वाक्य का वह भाग है जो Subject के बारे में कुछ बताता है – इसमें Verb और उसके साथ आने वाले Object, Complement, Adverb आदि शामिल होते हैं।
- Structure: Verb + (Object/Complement/Adverb).
- Note: Every sentence has a predicate.

Direct Object (DO) – क्रिया का सीधा प्रभाव, प्रश्न “क्या?” या “किसे?” का उत्तर।

Note: Only transitive verbs can have objects. IO usually comes before DO.
Complement एक शब्द या phrase है जो Subject या Object की पहचान या स्थिति बताता है – यह Linking Verb (be, seem, become, etc.) के बाद आता है।
- Subject Complement (SC): Subject की पहचान/स्थिति बताता है (Noun/Adjective).
He is a doctor. (Noun) · She is beautiful. (Adjective) - Object Complement (OC): Object की अतिरिक्त विशेषता बताता है (Noun/Adjective).
They elected him president. (Noun) · The paint made it bright. (Adjective)
⚠️ Note: Complement पूरक कहलाता है क्योंकि यह Verb के अर्थ को पूरा करता है।
Adverbial वे शब्द या phrases हैं जो Verb, Adjective, या दूसरे Adverb की विशेषता बताते हैं – ये समय, स्थान, ढंग, कारण, आदि दर्शाते हैं।

- We met yesterday. (Time)
- He lives in Delhi. (Place)
Other elements: Objects of Preposition, Modifiers, etc. also add meaning.
